الضحى
Ad-Dhuhaa - 11 ayahs
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
وَٱلضُّحَىٰ
Transliteration: Waaldduha
By the morning brightness
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ
Transliteration: Waallayli itha saja
And [by] the night when it covers with darkness
مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَىٰ
Transliteration: Ma waddaAAaka rabbuka wama qala
Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]
وَلَلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ
Transliteration: Walalakhiratu khayrun laka mina aloola
And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]
وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰٓ
Transliteration: Walasawfa yuAAteeka rabbuka fatarda
And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied
أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًا فَـَٔاوَىٰ
Transliteration: Alam yajidka yateeman faawa
Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge
وَوَجَدَكَ ضَآلًّا فَهَدَىٰ
Transliteration: Wawajadaka dallan fahada
And He found you lost and guided [you]
وَوَجَدَكَ عَآئِلًا فَأَغْنَىٰ
Transliteration: Wawajadaka AAailan faaghna
And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient
فَأَمَّا ٱلْيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ
Transliteration: Faamma alyateema fala taqhar
So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]
وَأَمَّا ٱلسَّآئِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ
Transliteration: Waamma alssaila fala tanhar
And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]
وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ
Transliteration: Waamma biniAAmati rabbika fahaddith
But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]
